Introduction

There are many steps in writing a 7 x 7 expository article, and you must follow them in sequence.  They are as follows, and will be discussed below:
     (a) Topic.
     (b) Title.
     (c)  Brainstorming.
     (d) Rough article outline.
     (e) General article outline.
     (f)  Specific paragraph outline.
     (g) Write and edit article.

Many college students will wonder if all this work can be finished within the space of one week–the usual time assigned for a writing homework.  Here is a suggested timetable:
Monday–Homework assigned.  Choose topic and title.  Do brainstorming.
Tuesday–Write plan (rough article outline, general article outline, and specific paragraph outline).  Modify plan, according to structure and logic.  Make sure the plan is workable, before beginning to write the actual text of the article.
Wednesday–Write first draft of the article.
Thursday–Have a friend correct your first draft, focusing on structure and logic, only.
Friday–Write second draft of the article.
Saturday–Have a friend correct your second draft, focusing on grammar, spelling, and various “technical” considerations.
Sunday–Write the third (and final) draft of the article.  Rest.
     Monday–Hand in homework.
